Pima has a full time general music teacher who meets with all students in grades K-3 at least once each week. Students in grades 4-6 who are not involved in band or strings instruction also meet with the general music teacher at least weekly. Students are exposed to learning a wide variety of music concepts and participate in activities including listening, singing, dancing, performing, writing music, and playing musical instruments.

Specialists work with fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students in the area of band and orchestra on a daily basis. While considered an "elective", many Pima students choose to take part in either band or strings. Performances are held several times during the school year.
